Jan Pickett is a professional Calligrapher, Lettering Artist and Illustrator, who undertakes many and varied commissions, both private and commercial. She is an Honoured Fellow of the Calligraphy and Lettering Arts Society (CLAS) and a Fellow of the Society of Scribes and Illuminators (SSI), and is active in, and supports, both Societies. Based in Portsmouth, Jan teaches weekly Adult Education classes at Portsmouth College (02393 667521) and regular monthly 'Pen-pals' day workshops during term time, (02392 756826). She also teaches occasional residential courses at Urchfont Manor, Wiltshire and travels nationally to teach a variety of one day workshops.

"Since childhood in Wales, my whole life has been a love affair with all forms of Art, especially anything involving brushes and pens! I enjoy all aspects of lettering, both formal and informal and its wider applications, including illustration, heraldry, gilding, embossing and cut paper work".
